PALAKKAD: A man was arrested in the incident where his dogs attacked a youth and seriously injured him. The arrested has been identified as Stephen of Pullattuparambil in Ganesh Giri. He was charged with careless handling of aggressive dogs. The incident related to the arrest took place in Shornur's Paruthipra on Tuesday morning.
Paruthipra Puthanpuraykal Mahesh (36) was attacked by the pitbulls raised by Stephen. Mahesh was injured all over his body. He was brought to the hospital with his ear, lip and nose cut in two. Mahesh is recovering now, relatives said.
Mahesh sells milk from a nearby cow farm. The dogs attacked when he reached here in an autorickshaw to fetch milk. Mahesh was found unconscious after being attacked by dogs for ten minutes and was rescued by the owner of the dogs, Stephen. The municipality has asked Stephen for an explanation for breeding aggressive dogs without a permit. The municipal secretary informed that a complaint has been lodged with the police demanding action against the owners of the dogs.
