Boiling water comes out from ground during piling works

VAIKOM: Boiling water came out from the ground near an electric post during piling works for the bridge. The incident took place at 6 pm yesterday during the work of Mulekadav Bridge, which is being built across Muvattupuzhayar to connect Maravanthuruth Chemp Panchayats. Then the KSEB officials came and disconnected the electricity. Later it was confirmed that it was not a phenomenon connected with electricity. The geologist informed the panchayat authorities that the water is boiling due to the heat generated under the ground due to continuous piling came out through a weak point.
