KOTTAYAM: A model of the low-floor bus, the last journey vehicle of popular leader Oommen Chandy from Thiruvananthapuram to Puthupally, was placed at his grave.
The miniature was made under the leadership of Mathoor Johnny Kutty Varughese, owner of Blue Bird Graphics in Thengana, at a cost of more than Rs 20,000. The miniature will be in his tomb till October 31, birthday of Oommen Chandy. The low floor bus, which saw the whole world with tears and decorated with flower garlands painted with pictures of Oommen Chandy, has been reimagined in the same way.
Materials like forex sheet, acrylic aluminum compact panel, cloth, sticker, etc. ere used for the construction. It is four feet long and proportionately tall.
Flower garlands and pictures of Oommen Chandy are included in the bus. Chandy Oommen standing with folded hands near the mobile mortuary inside the bus has also been depicted.
Johnny Kutty of Puthupally thought of it because of his intimacy with Oommen Chandy. When I told the idea to my employees, they stood with me. History has been reborn in the action of employees Subin Varughese, Pawan Mathew and Kichu Vishnu. Johnny Kutty said that after October 31st, the miniature will be shifted to the house rented by Chandy Oommen in Puthupally.
