Pakistan fires at Indian soldiers on Kashmir border; two jawans and a civilian sustain injuries

NEW DELHI: Two jawans and a civilian were injured in a firing by Pakistan Army at Arnia on Jammu and Kashmir border. They have been shifted to GMC Hospital in Jammu for specialist treatment. Reports said the health condition of the injured is satisfactory.

Pakistani soldiers started unprovoked firing in Arnia sector last night at around 8 pm. Shortly the Indian army retaliated. The BSF informed through an official press release that the attack was using mortar shells. The attack from both sides continued till three in the morning. The Indian Army also said the attack from the Pakistani side was without any provocation.


The local residents are also shocked by the unexpected firing. The shooting started at night. It is after four years that such an incident is happening in this area. Our children are scared. It is also a matter of concern that not all houses have bunkers,' said a local resident. A fire broke out in areas like Suchtgarh, Siya, Jabowal and Trewa near Arnia.
