Congress with eyes on farmers in Chhattisgarh; Rahul harvests paddy with farmers

NEW DELHI: Congress in Chhattisgarh with the hope that the schemes brought for farmers will turn into votes. Party leader Rahul Gandhi, who is on a two-day campaign for continued rule, harvested paddy with farmers in a village near the capital Raipur. In his post on X, he said, "If farmers are happy, India is happy."

Rahul pointed out that the schemes brought by the Congress government have made the farmers happy. He said that the cost of Rs 2,640 per quintal of paddy, Rs 23,000 crore input subsidy for 26 lakh farmers, Rs 10,000 crore loan waiver for 19 lakh farmers, the halving of electricity bill and Rs 7,000 per year for five lakh farm labourers will be replicated across India.

Rahul visited Kathiya village near Raipur along with Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo. Congress has released pictures of Rahul harvesting paddy with a headscarf. Rahul addressed two rallies in Rajnandgaon and Kawardha constituencies yesterday. Rahul Gandhi announced that if Congress is re-elected, education from Kindergarten to PG will be provided for free. Polling for the 90-member Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly will be held on November 7 and 17.
