Dominic Martin might defend himself in court; denies service of lawyers

KOCHI: The Kalamassery blast case accused Dominic Martin has been remanded till the 29th of next month. The police did not ask for custody time in the court. Subsequently, the District Sessions Court remanded Dominic till November 29.

Meanwhile, accused Dominic Martin told the court that he has no complaint against the police and said he does not want the services of a lawyer in the case. Martin said he would defend the case himself. After the identification parade, the police will submit a custody application for the accused.

As part of evidence collection, Martin was taken to his apartment in Athani and to Zamra Convention Centre where the blast took place. Martin's flat is adjacent to Mar Athanasius High School ground in Nedumbassery.

Three people were mercilessly killed and scores injured in an explosion at the Zamra International Convention Center near the Medical College in Kalamassery on Sunday morning. The blast was on the last day of the conference which has been going on since the 27th of this month. It is reported that more than 2,000 people participated in the conference.
