KOCHI: The High Court has directed the investigation team to appoint a nodal officer to inform them of the problems faced by those who filed complaints related to the Hema Committee report. A special bench of Justices A K Jayasankaran Nambiar and C S Sudha directed the investigation team. The investigation team appeared in person and submitted the progress of the investigation related to the case to the court.

The WCC had alleged that those who gave statements to the Hema Committee were facing threats. The WCC's lawyer pointed out in the court today that those who gave statements are also facing various other problems. The complainants may not always be able to contact the SIT members, in which case the WCC demanded that there should be a way to resolve their problems.

Following this, the High Court has directed the SIT to appoint a nodal officer. If the complainants receive threatening messages, they can inform the nodal officer. The nodal officer will forward the complaints received to the investigation team.
