Luxury hotels shield for eerie business; Three including woman arrested in Kochi

KOCHI: The police arrested three people, including a young woman, for selling drugs inside luxury hotels, on Thursday. Rijo (41) of Kollam Ochira Valiyakulangara Sajan Bhavan, Dino Babu (32) of Kottayam Kuruvilangad Karumbat house and Kannur Dharmadam resident Mridula (38) were caught by the South Police.

The gang fell into the police trap when the officials conducted a quick raid on a luxury hotel in Kadavanthra on Thursday night. 19.82 grams of MDMA and 4.5 grams of hashish oil were seized. All the accused have been remanded.

The gang carted MDMA and other banned drugs from Bengaluru. It was mostly through women that the gang sold drugs to customers. The arrested Rijo is a history-sheeter and has cases registered in Thrikkakara, Muvattupuzha, Kothamangalam, Kozhencherry, Kanjikuzhi and Changanassery. There are drug cases against Dino Babu, including in Maradu police station.
