SHIVAMOGGA: A complaint has been lodged against a teacher for forcing a girl of Brahmin community to eat an egg. The girl’s father lodged a complaint with the education department alleging that the teacher had hurt religious sentiments. The incident happened at Sivamogga in Karnataka. Her father in his complaint demanded that strong action be taken against the teacher, who made his daughter eat eggs.

The girl is studying in class 2 at the Karnataka Public School at Kammachi village in Shivamogga. The girl's father is a high school teacher in the same school. The girl herself told her father that the teacher forced her to eat eggs. She said that she was made to eat eggs saying that they are good for health.

However, her father Srikanth said that his daughter had never eaten non-vegetarian food. He added that the teacher forced his daughter to eat egg two days ago. The father's complaint is against the teacher identified as Puttaswamy. There are a total of 26 students studying in the second class and ten of them are vegetarians.

Srikanth said that he had asked for chikkis to be served to her instead of eggs. However, the teacher Puttaswamy told them that eggs are good for health. Srikanth said that his daughter fell ill and was mentally disturbed. He said that the action of the teachers has hurt the family’s religious beliefs. Meantime, the teacher has not yet responded to the incident.
