NEW DELHI: People who are likely to make bank transactions next month will need to keep a few things in mind. It is reported that banks will remain closed for 18 days in the month of December. These days include strikes and bank holidays.
The bank holidays may vary from state to state and bank to bank. In addition to gazetted holidays, weekly holidays and holidays on second and fourth Saturdays, employees will go on a six-day nationwide strike next month. The All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) has called for a 6-day nationwide strike in December. Several PSU banks will remain closed on different dates owing to strikes called by AIBEA.

December 4- Banks will remain closed in Goa due to St. Francis Xavier Festival
December 9- Second Saturday
December 10- Sunday
December 12- Bank holiday in Meghalaya due to Pa-Togan Nengminja Sangma.
December 13- Bank holiday in Sikkim due to Losung/Namsung.
December 17- Sunday
December 18- Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya due to the death anniversary of U Soso Tham.
December 19- Bank holiday in Goa due to Liberation Day
December 23- Fourth Saturday
December 24- Sunday
December 25- Banks across the country will be closed for Christmas
December 26- Banks will remain closed in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya due to Christmas celebrations
December 27- Banks will remain closed in Nagaland due to Christmas celebrations
December 30- Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya
December 31- Sunday
