KOCHI: Mysterious blood footprints found in SC lawyer's uninhabited house

KOCHI: In a strange happening, blood footprints were found in a house that was kept closed for years. The incident happened in Maradu in Ernakulam. Kochi City Police has started an investigation into the mysterious incident that happened on Saturday at a Supreme Court lawyer's house on Maradu Upasana Road.

Youngsters who were playing football nearby had to trespass into the house since the ball fell on the premises. The youngsters after collecting football saw the windows and the doors remaining open. It made them suspicious and when took a sneak peek inside through the window, what caught their eyes where blood all around.

Maradu police, forensic experts and fingerprint experts came and collected the samples. It is suspected that the blood came from the feet of the person injured during the robbery attempt. Attempts have been made to open the pipes inside the house to wash the injured area. It is believed that the stranger went to a nearby house, washed the injured area and then left the place. As there is no CCTV in the area, the police are struggling to find evidence. It is planned to identify the blood group and spread the investigation to regular thieves. The information of the injured is also being collected from nearby hospitals.

The security guard of this house was killed ten years ago. Later the house was closed. Some years ago, the house was given for rent but soon after, the family vacated for unknown reasons. The owner of the house has been in Delhi for years but will reach Maradu today.

Police have not received any complaints till now. As it was a mysterious incident, Maradu police started a preliminary investigation. The investigation is progressing under the supervision of senior police officers of Kochi City.
