Health department raids fake treatment center in Kaypamamangalam, owner arrested

KAYPAMAMANGALAM: The health department carried out a raid at a fraudulent treatment center in Kaypamamangalam. The owner of the establishment was apprehended by the police. The raid targeted the Santhi Clinic located at Vazhiyambalam. Deepu Sarkar, originally from Bengal was taken into custody. Notably, Sarkar had been arrested two years ago for the same offense.

It was observed that in front of the establishment, the name and details of another authorized doctor were displayed according to officials.

Furthermore, two other establishments were found to be operating without adequate records. As per the medical officer's statement, fake medical centers were raided within the block limits.

The operation was led by Parameswar, the Superintendent of Perinjanam Public Health Center. Additionally, Dr Mithu K. Thambi from Kunnamkulam Govt. Ayurveda Dispensary Hospital, Dr. Lamsey Francis from SN Puram Govt. Homeo Dispensary, Inspector R. Suresh from Kaypamamangalam Family Health Center along with Health Inspectors MS Binoj and L Akhila Varan, were part of the team conducting the raid.
