Gold hits record price in Kerala; Even if paid Rs 50,000 will not get a sovereign

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The price of gold has reached an all-time high in Kerala. There was a rise of Rs 600 for a sovereign of 22 carat. With this, a sovereign costs Rs 46,480. There was an increase of Rs 75 per gram. It is trading at Rs 5,810 today.


The present record presently was Rs 45,920. This record has been crossed and reached Rs 46,480 today. If one wants to buy a sovereign, will have to pay more than half a lakh including making charges and GST. A sovereign costed Rs 45,880 yesterday and Rs 5,735 per gram.


Meantime, there was an increase of Rs 656 for a sovereign of 24 carat. With this, it increased to Rs 50,704. A rise of Rs 82 per gram and it rose to Rs 6338. A rise of Rs 496 for 18 carat and trading is at 38,032.
