Overspeeding KSRTC bus rams into car, police takes bus into custody after bus staff threaten car owner

IDUKKI: A KSRTC bus overtook at high speed and hit a car causing an accident here in Nedumkandam Cooperative Bank Junction. After this, the bus staff threatened the car owner. The police reached the spot after getting the information and took the bus into custody.

The bus running on the Idukki-Kumily route overtook and hit the rear door of the car coming in the opposite direction. Muniyara native Arun and his family were in the car. The bus hit the car's side where Arun's wife Athira was seated with her baby. No one was injured in the accident.

Locals stopped the bus from trying to proceed after causing the accident. As per Athira, the employees were irked by this and misbehaved. The family in the car alleged that the conductor challenged the family to file a case and the police wouldn't take the bus into custody even if they came. The employees also challenged the police that they will file a case if the bus trip is interrupted.

The bus was taken into custody after the locals and those in the car took a strong stand. The bus was released yesterday evening.
