Under heavy debt, couple ends life in Alappuzha after killing children

ALAPPUZHA: In a suicide pact over financial liability and illness, a couple ended their lives after killing their children. The incident happened on the ninth ward of Alappuzha Thalavady Panchayat. The couple identified as Sunu of Thalavady Mooleparambil and Soumya committed suicide by hanging after killing their children Aadi and Aathil.

The neighbors informed the police as the door of the house was not opened in the morning.

Similar incidents are on the rise. A wiring employee committed suicide after killing his son of class three in Kottayam three weeks ago. Binu (48) of Meenadom Vattukalam was constantly harassed by the employees of the private company to repay the loan taken to buy a mobile phone. Depressed over it, he killed his son Sivahari (9) and then took his own life.

A man committed suicide at Mannar in Alappuzha after killing his four-year-old son. Mithun Kumar (John-34), son of Simon and Susan, killed his son Delvin John and then committed suicide.
