KOLLAM: Ending the spell of ambiguity in the Oyoor abduction case, the arrest of three people was recorded immediately on Saturday morning. Pooyapally police arrested Padmakumar, his wife and daughter in relation to the abduction of this six-year-old girl from Kollam.

The accused will be shifted from the AR camp to Pooyapally station. Kollam Rural SP, Pooyapally SHO and others have reached the spot.

The accused will be produced in the Kottarakkara court on Saturday evening. Initially, it was Padmakumar and his wife who weaved plan for kidnapping the child, but their daughter also joined the team after her income plummeted from YouTube, where she is an influencer.

While abducting the child, the gang in a wily way, tried to give a letter to the child’s brother. A threatening message was written on the paper saying that the child would be returned if the money was paid and they assured that the child would not be harmed. However, the young brother of the child thwarted the letter which led to a small scuffle. The brother later took a stick and started thrashing the gang, making them flee. Later, the gang resorted to threatening calls from local phone booths.

Padmakumar is a 1993 batch graduate from TKM Engineering College. According to reports, he had a lot of debts and was also involved in taking money from online loan apps. His credit card spending also surpassed the limits recently. Padmakumar and his kin never thought the issue would snowball into such a controversy. They intended to take ransom money from the family to end many of their debts.
