Mother's live-in partner admits to killing newborn baby by hitting on head, more details out

KOCHI: The death of a one-month-old baby has been confirmed as a case of murder as the live-in partner of the baby's mother, Shanif, testified that he hit the child's head on his knee. The police also said that after the murder, Shanif bit the baby's body to ensure its death. The police found that Ashwathy, the mother of the child, was involved in the crime. The arrest of both will be likely recorded today.

As per reports, Shanif physically abused the baby several times right from its birth. Shanif takes a room with Ashwathy in a lodge in Karukapally, intending to get rid of the baby as he sees it as a liability. Here the accused killed the baby by hitting its head on his knee. He also hit the baby's chest hard.

Despite attempts to kill the baby, Ashwathy did not show any resistance. Moreover, both of them took the unconscious baby to the hospital together. They first said that the baby choked on the breast milk.

But after seeing abnormal marks on the baby's body, the hospital authorities informed the police and the murder unfolded.
