NEW DELHI: Railway Minister, Ashwani Vaishnav disclosed that K Muralidharan and VK Srikanth were informed regarding the proposed project. However, the written response clarified that the Central government has yet to authorize the project.

According to reports, the comprehensive project document submitted by K Rail to the Ministry of Railways lacked essential technical details required to ascertain its feasibility. Consequently, K Rail has been requested to furnish additional information. Specifically, technical documents such as the alignment plan, land particulars and details on intersections with existing railway lines were sought to assess the viability of the project.

Southern Railway has also been tasked with engaging K Rail in discussions to address various concerns associated with the project and subsequently submit their observations. Despite inquiries made, the Ministry of Railways has not commented on whether the state needs to acquire 108 hectares for project implementation or if the Railways have consented to this acquisition.
