MUMBAI: Six workers died in a major fire that broke out at a glove manufacturing company in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Many suffered severe burn injuries. Reports said the death toll is likely to rise further. The victims were those who were sleeping inside the factory.

The accident happened Sunday morning at around 2 am. The fire brigade worked hard to bring the people who were trapped inside the building out. The fire was brought under control by morning. About 15 people were in the factory at the time of the accident. The fire spread as soon as the night shift workers went to sleep. They understood what happened only after they were stuck in such a way they couldn't get out. That increased the depth of the accident. The initial conclusion is that chemicals caused the fire to spread quickly.

‘When we reached the spot after receiving the phone call in the morning, the entire factory was on fire. "Our personnel entered and recovered the bodies of six people,’ a firefighter involved in the rescue operation told the news agency.

The officials said that it is not possible to say what was the cause of the accident or how much damage was caused. An investigation has been initiated into the incident. Senior officials visited the spot.
