KOTTAYAM: Opposition Leader VD Satheesan on Monday mocked the government by claiming that the Chief Minister had sent Minister Saji Cheriyan to insult those leading respectable lives. The opposition leader was responding to the remark made by Minister Saji Cheriyan the other day against Christian religious leaders. According to Satheesan, Saji Cheriyan was sent by the Chief Minister to ridicule those who lead respectable lives in the same way people were given liquor and sent to dignitaries' homes to insult them.

"It is not wrong that the Christian leaders went to the meeting called by the Prime Minister. If a person is called by the Prime Minister or the Chief Minister for an event, the person will go and attend that event. There is no need to make fun of those who went for it. If there is a difference of opinion, it can be expressed nicely. Did any of us speak ill of anyone who participated in the Nava Kerala Sadas? However, Saji Cheriyan constantly made bad remarks about me throughout the Nava Kerala Sadas," Satheesan said.
