'Took my nude photo and...'; Kozhikode teen's shocking allegation against director Ranjith

KOZHIKODE: Just one day after police registered a case on the complaint of a Bengali actress, another shocking allegation has surfaced against Malayalam film director Ranjith. A youngster from Kozhikode alleged that he was subjected to unnatural sexual harassment when approached Ranjith for a film opportunity.

It is alleged that the young man approached the director while the latter was busy shooting a film in Bengaluru.

Youngster’s revelation to a private channel:

“I met the director in his hotel room. He took a tissue paper and wrote his phone number on it and asked me to contact him later. He also asked me to reach the Bengaluru Taj Hotel after two days. Taking his advice, I reached the hotel by 10 pm. The director then persuaded me to drink alcohol. He then stripped and assaulted me. He made me use kohl on my eyes while standing naked and commented it 'beautiful'. He took my naked photo on his phone and said that he would show it to his girlfriend. Initially, I thought all of this was part of some character training, but I can’t reveal what happened later.”

The youth gave his statement to the special police team formed to investigate complaints in the film industry. The young man says that the molestation took place in Bengaluru in 2012. In his complaint, the youngster says that the director specifically told him not to give the phone number to anyone and only send a message.

The youngster said that the director was seriously drunk when he entered the room and soon started revealing his sexual advances while engaging in candid talks.
