South Indian actress Nayanthara's latest film Annapoorani is getting mixed reviews including from social media. Nayanthara plays a Brahmin girl in the film. As the film is making its way on Netflix with full viewership, new controversies are surfacing around the film. Controversy is now due to the scenes in which the film interprets Lord Rama.

Former Shiv Sena leader Ramesh Solanki has filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police, alleging that some scenes in the film has hurt Hindu sentiments. He tweeted that the film was anti-Hindu and the scene where Lord Ram eats meat has hurt religious sentiments. He shares about each scene in the film in the note.

The Hindu priest's daughter (Nayanthara) prays just before cooking biryani. Nayanthara's character says that prayer gives flavor to biryani. Love Jihad is encouraged in the climax scenes. Also, the protagonist tells the heroine that Lord Ram used to eat meat during his exile. All these scenes are said to offend Hindu culture.

Ramesh Solanki also alleged that Netflix and Zee Studios produced and released the film during the Ram temple consecration ceremony to hurt Hindu sentiments. Ramesh Solanki, who filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police in this regard, has requested Maharashtra Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take strict action. Neither Nayanthara nor Netflix have responded on the matter yet.
