KOCHI: Mastermind behind the fake drug case targeting Sheela Sunny, owner of She Style Beauty Parlor in Chalakudy has been identified. Narayana Das, a resident of Tripunithura Erur and a friend of Sheela's cousin is accused of providing false information to the Excise Department.

Das, now under investigation, allegedly misled Excise Inspector K Satheesan by falsely implicating Sheela in a synthetic lethal drug case. Sheela spent 72 days behind bars after a stamp of the said drug was found in her bag during an inspection at her beauty parlour led by Excise Inspector Satheesan.

The investigation revealed that Narayana Das, introducing himself as Satish had informed the Iringalakuda Excise CI about the alleged drug possession through a WhatsApp call. Das claimed that a stamp would be found in Sheela's bag or cart and suggested a specific time for the inspection.

Impersonation and providing false information to law enforcement are serious offenses, akin to drug possession. The investigating team has summoned Narayana Das for questioning regarding his role in the orchestrated incident.

Sheela, who initially suspected the involvement of a close relative was eventually found innocent in the subsequent investigation.
