Belur Magna remains out of reach; task force ends today's effort

BAVALI: The task force's effort to tranquillize and capture Belur Magna, the killer elephant, has come to an end today. Although the task force had two chances to shoot tranquillizer darts at the elephant, they were unable to tranquillize it. Meanwhile, another Mozha elephant rushed towards the task force that went in search of Belur Magna. The surprise attack happened this morning. The RRT team chased the elephant away by making noise by opening fire in the air.

At the same time, locals have intensified their protest as the task force has not yet been able to tranquillize the elephant. A task force consisting of 200 people has been trying to capture the elephant for four days through the forests in Bavali and Kattikulam.
