THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Women's Commission Chairperson Adv. P Sathidevi said that most complaints regarding family problems are received from Thiruvananthapuram. She was speaking after settling the grievances at the district level adalat held at Thycaud Rest House.
"Vigilance committees working in the wards at the local body level should intervene and do the necessary work to make relations go smoothly. If women file a complaint regarding workplace harassment, the authorities of the concerned institutions are not ready to investigate and provide the report in a timely manner. The report of the internal committee is available only after several requests," Adv P Sathidevi pointed out.
78 cases were settled in district level adalat. Six cases were sent for counseling and 12 cases for police report. 254 cases were transferred to next adalat. A total of 350 cases were considered. Women Commission members Adv Indira Ravindran, VR Mahilamani, Adv Elizabeth Mamman Matthai and Adv P Kunjayisha also presided over the Adalat.
