SURAT: The police are gearing up to question Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma in the case of the suicide of model Tania Singh (28). The police have sent a notice to the cricketer asking him to appear for questioning.

The national media is reporting that the investigation of the case is moving towards the 23-year-old cricketer and that the police have received crucial information. The police had examined Tania's phone records earlier. It is indicated that Abhishek Sharma's name was found in the call details of the phone.

Tania lived in Happy Elegance Apartment on Vesu Road in Surat. Tania, who was active in the world of fashion, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday. The police later launched an investigation into Tania's suicide based on the complaint filed by her family.

It is reported that Abhishek and Tania were close. Before her death, Tania had contacted Abhishekh's phone. She had called and sent a message to his phone. However, the cricketer did not respond.

Abhishek is a player for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. Last year, he had scored 226 runs in 11 matches. The youngster, who has played for the India U-19 and India A teams, is regarded as one of the future prospects of Indian cricket.
