BJP list: Names of Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Kummanam being considered in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The names of Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, film actress Shobhana, film producer Suresh Kumar and Kummanam Rajasekharan are being discussed in Kerala's BJP candidate list to intensify the fight in Thiruvananthapuram. Union Minister V Muraleedharan and actor Suresh Gopi have been confirmed as BJP candidates in Attingal and Thrissur respectively.

The names of Kummanam Rajasekaran and V.V Gopakumar are being considered in Kollam. PC George has demanded the Pathanamthitta constituency in a discussion with the central leadership. His son Shaun George is likely to be named the candidate here. Dalit leader and state general secretary P Sudhir is likely to contest in Mavelikkara, while Lisha Ranjith, the wife of slain BJP leader Ranjith Srinivasan, is likely to be named candidate in Alappuzha. Anil Antony's name is doing the rounds as a candidate in Ernakulam or Alappuzha. It is indicated that the party is planning to field prominent businessman Sabu M Jacob in Ernakulam. Senior leader AN Radhakrishnan is also being considered in Chalakudy. Director Major Ravi is also likely to feature in the list of candidates.

If Rahul Gandhi decides to contest again in Wayanad, Sobha Surendran is likely to be named the BJP candidate in the constituency. Otherwise, Sobha will contest in Kozhikode. The names of state general secretary MT Ramesh and Corporation Councilor Navya Haridas are also considered in Kozhikode. Yuva Morcha state president Praful Krishnan may be considered in Vadakara, while national executive member PK Krishnadas will be considered in Kasaragod or Kannur. The name of a woman OBC leader from Karnataka is also being considered in Kasaragod.

Candidates will be announced soon

The BJP is planning to announce the first phase list of candidates before the closing ceremony of K Surendran's Padayatra, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Thiruvananthapuram on the 27th. Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan is active in the talks being held in Delhi.
