IDUKKI: Yet another person has died in the state after being attacked by a wild animal. A young man died after being attacked by a wild elephant. The deceased has been identified as Mani alias Suresh Kumar, a resident of Kannimala Estate, Munnar, Idukki. Two others were also injured in the wild elephant attack. The accident happened on Monday night.

Mani, his wife and child were returning home in the autorickshaw when an elephant, which was standing on the road, attacked the vehicle. The vehicle overturned and all three were trapped under it. The elephant then attacked Mani as he came out of the vehicle. A jeep driver, who reached the spot after the incident, chased away the elephant by making noise using the jeep.

Mani and his family were returning home after attending the anniversary program of the child's school. Although two migrant workers were said to be in the auto with the family, they were not injured.
