107 kg of ganja seized from Mahindra Bolero pickup vehicle in Kasargod; two persons arrested

MANJESHWAR: A special squad of the Excise Department has seized 107 kg of ganja from Kasargod. The ganja was seized from a Mahindra Bolero pickup vehicle. The special squad seized the ganja hidden in the secret compartment of the vehicle with the help of the cyber cell.

Accused Shaheer Raheem from Manjeshwar and Enmakaje native Shareef were arrested by Excise Circle Inspector Amal Rajan and his party. The arrested persons were members of a gang smuggling ganja from Andhra to Kerala. Those who helped the accused to smuggle the ganja will also be added as accused in the case.

The party included Grade AEIs James Abraham Kurio, Murali KV, Preventive Officer Sajan Apyal, Civil Excise Officers Prajith KR, Nasaruddin, Shijith VV, Manjunathan V, Mohanakumar L, Satheesan K, Sonu Sebastian and Lady Civil Excise Officer Maymol John, drivers Vijayan PS and Christine PA.
