Minister V Sivankutty's strict instructions; pending files should be cleared by March 31

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister V Sivankutty's suggestion to clear the pending files in the Directorate of General Education by March 31. Strict instructions were given to the officials in a meeting convened to evaluate the work of the directorate.

A total of 16,514 files are pending in 38 sections of the Directorate. 10,734 files aged between six months and one year, 3,371 files above one year, 1,605 files above two years and 804 files above three years are pending in the General Education Office.

An Adhalath should be organized in the Directorate to dispose of audit-related files, appointment approval files, pension, vigilance and court cases and a report of the same should be submitted by the Director.

Urgent action should be taken to avoid old vehicles rusting in the compound of the Directorate. An Additional Director should be entrusted with these functions. A clear report in this regard should be submitted to the government within 10 days. The Minister also suggested that immediate action should be taken for the settlement of those who have taken advance payments for various programs. General Education Director Shanawas and senior officials attended the meeting.
