Citizenship of Muslims will not be affected: MHA on CAA

bjp

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Home Affairs has come up with an explanation in the context of the notification of the amendment aimed at the Lok Sabha elections and the campaign that the Citizenship Act is an anti-Muslim law.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has stated that the campaign to mislead the people is being carried out concerning the Citizenship Act and that the Act will not affect the citizenship of the Muslim community in any way. In a statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs informed that the current 18 crore Muslims in the country will have all the rights of Hindus and no document of any kind needs to be produced to prove the citizenship.

Section 6 of the Citizenship Amendment Act allows any Muslim community in any country to apply for Indian citizenship. The Ministry of Home Affairs also says that the propaganda to the contrary is untrue.

India has not entered into an agreement with any country to deport refugees to its own country. After the amendment of the CAA rules, opposition parties have been staging massive protests. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had stated that CAA will not be implemented in Kerala. The decision of various parties is to fight legally.
