Suresh Gopi offers financial aid for gender reassignment surgeries in Thrissur

THRISSUR: Suresh Gopi, the NDA candidate in Thrissur, offered assistance for gender reassignment surgery. He pledged to donate Rs 12 lakh for the transgender community on Keralapiravi day and he has fulfilled that promise.

Suresh Gopi provided financial assistance at his residence in Nettissery. In the initial phase, Mikha, Anisha, Venus Paul, Shravanthika, Gopika, Preethi, Abhirami, Teena, Rena, Elsa and Adrija will undergo surgery, each costing Rs 1,20,000.

The government will reimburse the expenses for the surgeries within a year. Following this, another ten people will have the opportunity to undergo surgery. Suresh Gopi has explicitly mentioned that he does not expect the return of the Rs 12 lakh donation.
