THIRUVANNATHAPURAM: Police have arrested two people in the case in which three youths were abducted from the premises of the Aluva railway station. The arrested persons are Muhammad Riyas and Anwar. Both of them were taken into custody yesterday. According to the police, the vehicle to abduct the youths was arranged under the leadership of Riyas and Anwar. The two are involved in the conspiracy.
The incident took place at around 7.10 am yesterday. A four-member group, who came in a luxury car, beat the three youths and took them in the car. Eyewitnesses reported the incident to the police. The police then examined the nearby CCTV footage and confirmed the incident.
The car used for kidnapping the youths was later found abandoned in Ernakulam. The two were arrested in the subsequent investigation. The police have received information about the accused in the case and the three people who were abducted.
It is reported that the dispute over illegal financial transactions was the reason behind the kidnapping. Two people, including the middleman in renting the vehicle, have been taken into custody by the police for questioning. It is indicated that the accused made financial transactions through Google Pay after abducting the youths. The police are investigating this by examining mobile phones and CCTVs.
