Excruciating summer: IMD issues warning to 10 districts including Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian meteorological department has warned about the temperature in Kerala rising to four degrees Celsius in the coming week. A yellow alert has been announced in Palakkad, Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kannur and Kozhikode districts.

From March 19 to 21, the maximum temperature in Palakkad district may rise to 39 degrees Celsius. Kollam, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta districts may witness temperatures up to 38 degrees Celsius and Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kannur and Kozhikode districts to 36 degrees Celsius.

Due to high temperatures, there is a possibility of hot and humid air in these districts for the coming days. The people in these districts have been warned to not venture out unnecessarily during afternoon hours.
