Returned home after leaving job in Gulf, started cultivating ganja at home after kicking out wife and mother; youth arrested

KAYAMKULAM: Police have arrested a youth who cultivated ganja plants on his house premises. Pullikkanakku native Abdul Shiji (34) was arrested under the leadership of the Alappuzha district Anti-Narcotics Squad and the Kayamkulam police.

31 ganja plants were found on the premises of his house. The police said that Shiji, who kicked out his wife and mother from home, had been living alone in the house for several months.

After leaving his job in the Gulf and returning home, Shiji became addicted to drugs. He then started to cultivate ganja and sell them. District Anti-Narcotics Squad members led by Narcotics Cell DySP B Pankajakshan, Kayamkulam CI Sudhir, ASI Ratheesh Babu and CPOs Sabish and Biju participated in the inspection.
