Man commits suicide by slitting his throat following brawl with wife

NEDUMANGAD: A man committed suicide by slitting his throat following a brawl with his wife. The deceased has been identified as Vithura Maruthamala native A Smithesh (38). The incident took place at around 1.45 am on Saturday.

According to reports, Smithesh, slit his throat using a knife after engaging in a verbal dispute with his wife Ashwathy. Upon seeing this, Ashwathy screamed and called her father's younger brother Anil Kumar and autorickshaw driver Rajesh for help. The two immediately reached the house and subdued Smithesh using force. Although they rushed him to the Nedumangad District Hospital, Smithesh soon succumbed to his injury. The police said that the incident took place after both Smithesh and Ashwathy returned home after watching a film at a theatre in Nedumangad on Friday night.
