Father-daughter among three killed in two separate tipper lorry accidents

PERUMBAVOOR: Three bike riders lost lives in two separate tipper lorry accidents that took place in the state on Wednesday. Eldhose (52), Agriculture Assistant Officer in Kothamangalam and his daughter Blessy (24) died in the accident which took place on MC road near Thannipuzha church.

In another accident, Tajuddin (32), a native of Kannur Kattampally, died instantly in an accident that took place near the Payyannur Kotti railway over the bridge.

The Thannipuzha accident took place at 8 am on Wednesday. Eldhose was taking his daughter Blessy to Angamaly railway station, for her to catch a train to Coimbatore, where she was a nursing student. The Taurus lorry which was following the bike hit on the rear of the vehicle and ran over the two bodies. Blessy died on the spot while Eldhose was taken to Angamaly LF Hospital where he died within ten minutes.

The bodies of both were handed over to their relatives after post-mortem. The cremation will take place today at 10 am at Kothamangalam Marthoma Cheripally graveyard. Taurus lorry driver Shijo was taken into police custody. The sudden accident has left Sini (Eldhose’s wife) and her son Basil shattered.

Another accident took place on Payyannur Kavvayi Road at around 2:30 pm on Wednesday. A tipper coming from Kotti railway station hit Tajuddin’s bike that was coming from the Olavara region. Tajuddin was running Kattampally Traders near the railway station area. The dead body is currently kept at Pariyaram, Kannur Govt.: Medical College Hospital Mortuary.
