BENGALURU: 20-hour-long efforts to rescue a two-year-old boy who fell into a borewell were successful in Lachyan village in Karnataka. The child fell into the 16-foot deep borewell at around 6.30 pm on Wednesday.
The accident happened while the child was playing near the house. One of the locals heard his cries and informed the family. To take out the child, a 21-feet deep pit was dug parallel to the borehole with the help of machinery.
The health status of the child is not available yet. A medical team was stationed at the spot with oxygen. As soon as the child was rescued, an ambulance and facilities were arranged to transfer him to a hospital in Indi.
