‘Tharoor is real Nair, not Delhi Nair”; NSS has equidistant stand in elections

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair said that they have an equidistant stand in the Lok Sabha elections. He was talking to the media after inaugurating the Padma Cafe started under the leadership of Thiruvananthapuram Taluk Union.

Nair said Congress leader and UDF candidate from Thiruvananthapuram constituency Shashi Tharoor is not a Delhi Nair but a real Nair. He said this when asked about his old stand saying that Tharoor is a Delhi Nair.

'It was a mistake made then. Tharoor is a real Nair. That's why invited Tharoor for the inauguration of Mannam Jayanthi’, said Sukumaran Nair.

Nair said the NSS has no politics and the people can vote as per their choice. There is no distance or intimacy to anyone. The government left the organisation out from the field of forward community. He added that the poor from the Nair community should be treated humanely.
