CHENNAI: Khushbu Sundar, BJP leader and member of the National Commission for Women, on Sunday revealed her plans to abstain from the ongoing election campaigning. The erstwhile Tamil actress cited serious health issues behind her unusual decision. Khushbu has also sent a letter to BJP National President JP Nadda highlighting the reason.
In the letter, Khushbu opened up about suffering unbearable pain during treatment but raised hope about reaching Delhi during PM Modi’s third swearing-in ceremony as the prime minister of India.
“At times, hard decisions have to be taken and the focus needs to be on one's health. I am at such a juncture today. I have dedicated myself to the BJP and have been following the path of our beloved PM Narendra Modi ji, immersing myself in the election campaign activities. But very unfortunately I am forced to take this decision due to my persisting tailbone injury which needs immediate attention. Will need all your support and goodwill to heal at the earliest, and come back to do more.” said Khushbu.
Khushbu is currently undergoing treatment for a tailbone injury she suffered in an accident in 2019. She has been actively campaigning for BJP but had to call a pause after the pain and agony started to take a toll. As per doctors, the former actress is not allowed to sit for prolonged hours, or any extended travel.
