THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Temperature in Palakkad has reached 41.1 degrees Celsius for the first time. This is the highest temperature recorded for the season in the state. It is also indicated that the temperature will be extreme in April. It is 39 degrees in Kollam and 38 degrees in Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Pathanamthitta districts. Temperature may rise by two degrees till the 11th. Severe drought, high power consumption and crop damage may occur in the state. Hot and humid weather is likely apart from the hilly areas.
Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Alappuzha districts may experience isolated summer rain today. Thunderstorms are also possible. Summer rains are expected across Kerala on Saturday.
