Rare feat for Sidharth, who ranked four in civil services exam in fifth attempt

It took P K Sidharth Ramkumar, five attempts to clear the civil services exam. He has been ranked four in the union public service commission (UPSC) examination in 2023.

How many times you will try to fulfill a wish. Does all effort stop when it comes close to your desire? The answer of Sidharth who secured fourth rank is ‘no’. Sidharth fought five times for his IAS dream. Got IPS on his fourth attempt. Even when everyone thought it was over, Sidharth didn't stop there. He ran after his IAS dream. Finally, Sidharth achieved his desire of securing the fourth rank in his fifth try.

Sidharth couldn't even clear the preliminary when he started writing the civil services exam in 2019. However, Sidharth, who had an IAS ambition, studied with confidence and wrote the exam again in 2020. This time, instead of the rank list, he got a place in the reserve list, got a job in the Indian Post and Telecom Accounts and Finance Service. Sidharth joined for work with his desire for civil service. Sidharth in between his work found time for proper studies and training.

Sidharth attained 181st rank for his hard work in the civil services exam in 2021. Even though the dream of IAS did not happen, Sidharth went for IPS training. Even then he did not give up studies and training. He continued preparing for civil services exam with systematic study, mock tests and test series. Sidharth got 121st rank when the exam results were published in 2022. Sidharth adopted the method of studying while working when many quit jobs to study. However, Sidharth was not ready to give up his desire for civil service that was hidden inside him. Sidharth is a great example of hard work despite getting IPS. He worked hard for IAS and finally got 4th rank in his fifth attempt.
