Goonda attack in capital city again; pastor hacked, Consumerfed employee assaulted brutally

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A terror atmosphere is prevailing in Amboori at Vellarada after a drugs team created a ruckus in the area. They thrashed an employee of Consumerfed liquor shop. Her husband and another employee, who came to rescue her, was also attacked. Some others were also attacked. They also hacked a pastor.

The incident happened in Amboori last night. The attack was carried out by a four-member group on three bikes. The first violence was after blocking vehicles at Kannanalloor near Amboori. After this incident, they brutally attacked the Consumerfed employee. She was stopped on the way and thrashed. When the police reached the spot, they ran away. The police informed that a search has been intensified for the accused.

Several gang attacks have been reported in the district in recent times. In 2021, Sudheesh, a resident of Chempakamangalam, was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight by a 11-member gang of Pothencode. Sudheesh was also absconding after another attack.

It was in the same year, gangsters entered a bakery at Pallipuram CRPF camp junction, stabbed the owner and stole money after he failed to pay them money. The four-member gang, who were in jail, after being released on bail, attacked houses in 2022 and created an atmosphere of terror. A year ago, while drinking in Chanthavila, a verbal dispute between the goons escalated and Deepu alias mental Deepu was stoned to death. Five goons were the accused in the case.
