THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A terror atmosphere is prevailing in Amboori at Vellarada after a drugs team created a ruckus in the area. They thrashed an employee of Consumerfed liquor shop. Her husband and another employee, who came to rescue her, was also attacked. Some others were also attacked. They also hacked a pastor.
The incident happened in Amboori last night. The attack was carried out by a four-member group on three bikes. The first violence was after blocking vehicles at Kannanalloor near Amboori. They later attacked people with swords and machetes on all the routes they travelled. Meanwhile, a pastor was hacked. He has been admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. After this incident, they brutally attacked the Consumerfed employee. She was stopped on the way and thrashed. When the police reached the spot, they ran away. The police informed that a search has been intensified for the accused.
Several gang attacks have been reported in the district in recent times. In 2021, Sudheesh, a resident of Chempakamangalam, was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight by a 11-member gang of Pothencode. Sudheesh was also absconding after another attack.
