KASARGOD: In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old girl who was sleeping at her home was abducted by thieves. The thieves later abandoned the girl after stealing her gold earrings. The incident took place at Ozhinhavalapu in Padannakkad in Kasargod at around 3 am today. The girl was later found near the house during a search conducted by the locals.

At around 3 am, the child's grandfather had gone out to the cow shed after opening the backdoor of the house. In the meantime, the thieves entered the house and abducted the child through this backdoor. After stealing the gold earrings, they abandoned the girl near the house. Upon learning that the child had gone missing, the locals carried out a search in the nearby area. However, they were not able to find her anywhere. In the meantime, the child reached a nearby house, woke up the family and told them what had happened. Following this, the family informed the locals about the incident. The child was then taken to the Kanhangad District Hospital.

The child sustained injuries to her eyes and neck. However, she does not have any other health issues. The police are also investigating whether the motive behind the incident was mere theft. It is believed that a person who knows very well that the child's grandfather goes out through the backdoor at 3 am is behind the incident. The police have launched a search to find the accused. They are also examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to find a hint about the thieves.
