THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Some of KSRTC's AC premium super fast buses will start running today, with the rest arriving soon. The service operates on the Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam route. Yesterday, Minister K B Ganesh Kumar drove the bus and formally inaugurated the service. This is a bus provided by Tata company for a test ride.
The service has fewer stops but if you reserve by paying Rs. 20 more, you can board from locations other than the authorized stops. It is a 40-seat AC bus with a minimum fare of Rs. 60. The minimum fare for super fast is Rs. 22. Each seat has a mobile charging facility and the pushback seats also have seat belts. The bus stops at junctions to save travel time. If the bus is full, it will not stop along the way. The travel time from Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam is five and a half hours.
The bus will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 5:30 am and reach Ernakulam at 11:05 am. It will depart Ernakulam at 2:00 pm and reach Thiruvananthapuram at 7:35 pm via Kottayam.
The bus is equipped with indoor and outdoor cameras. Snacks and bottled water can be purchased on board.
