Bar bribery case; UDF's turn to protest; assembly to be turned into stage of strike

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: UDF to inflame the allegation that there was bribery to change the liquor policy in favour of bar owners. All the parties in the front will enter the protest arena separately after the opposition youth organizations.

The warfront is being opened against Excise Minister MB Rajesh and Tourism Minister Mohammad Riyas for allegedly pressuring to implement dry day. The Assembly will be turned into a stage of strike when the session begins. An attempt is being made to keep the Chief Minister and the LDF in crisis.

The front has decided to start the strike along with rejecting the crime branch investigation and demanding a judicial inquiry. The Youth Congress took out a protest march to the Palakkad Excise Minister's office today. Youth Congress will begin the protest programs including the Secretariat March next week.

The UDF believes that many of the representatives of the bar owners' organization have direct links with the Left Front and have been in direct communication with the CPM and the government. The opposition is also raising the question of why the excise minister himself filed the complaint if there is no truth in the audio recording. Allegations have also been raised that VPP Mustafa, who was the private secretary of MB Rajesh, was removed because of out of the line relationship with some bar owners.

Dramatic scenes took place during KM Mani's budget presentation when the assembly became a stage of protest over the bar bribery allegations during the time of the UDF government. The bar bribery strike against the LDF is happening in the assembly when the process of passing the budget which was presented earlier is about to happen.
