Rahul Gandhi accuses Modi of serving Adani's interests, Akhilesh Yadav predicts BJP limited to 140 seats

NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav held a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency, where polling is taking place in the seventh phase. The rally was organized by the 'India' Front to campaign for Congress candidate Ajay Rai from Varanasi and Samajwadi Party candidate Virendra Singh from the Chandauli constituency.

Akhilesh Yadav stated that 140 crore people will restrict the BJP, which claims to win more than 400 seats, to 140 seats. He mentioned that Uttar Pradesh favors the 'India' Front. Akhilesh Yadav criticized BJP's announcements regarding cleaning the Ganga river, stating that it remains undone. He expressed hope for better days, asserting that the 'India' Front aims to restore happiness. The Front is seeking votes to protect the constitution created by Ambedkar. Akhilesh assured farmers that their grievances under the Modi government will be addressed after June 4, once the 'India' Front government assumes power.

Rahul Gandhi commenced his speech by criticizing and mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's frequent interviews with the media. He highlighted the trivial questions posed to Modi, such as 'How do you eat mango?' Rahul joked about Modi's response, saying, "I was not born like other Indians. I was sent by God for a special mission."

Rahul further commented on Modi's purported mission to aid Adani, citing examples like the imposition of GST on poor traders and the acquisition of farmers' land. He questioned whether a person sent by God should not help the poor, emphasizing that neglecting them perpetuates poverty.

Congress leaders Bhupesh Baghel, Salman Khurshid, Supriya Sreenath and others were also present at the rally.
