ALAPPUZHA: Vishwabharan, the winner of this year's Vishu bumper lottery, said that he checked his ticket at night following news that the winner is from Alappuzha. Vishwambharan (76), a native of Alappuzha's Pazhaveedu, is a former CRPF officer. After retirement, he worked as a security guard in a bank. Vishwabharan told the media that he would use the prize money to build a house, which is his long-time dream.

To media queries about whether he would help with the money, he replied with a small smile that he would do small help.

Vishwambharan used to regularly buy lotteries. He has won a prize of Rs 5000 before this. He informed Thrikartika Agency in Alappuzha about his win on Thursday morning.
