ALUVA: Vijayawada native Bellamkonda Ram Prasad (Pratapan-41), the mastermind of the Hyderabad-based gang in the Iran organ trafficking racket, has been arrested by the Kerala Police. He was arrested from Hyderabad. Two Malayalis were arrested earlier.

Ram Prasad is a big real estate businessman in Hyderabad and Vijayawada region. The investigation team, realizing the political influence, arrested him in top secret. The Hyderabad police was informed after completing the process.

He was presented in court and a production warrant was obtained and brought to Aluva. It is reported that many villagers in Andhra have been used by Ram Prasad for organ trade. Sabit Nasar (30) of Thrissur Valappad Edamuttam and Sajith Shyamraj (43) of Kalamassery Changampuzha Nagar were arrested earlier.

The defendants said that the organs were bought and sold by Indians only. The victims were transported to Iran, Cambodia and Sri Lanka for organ transplants. The law is favourable in these countries. The only Malayali among the victims is Shemir, who settled in Pollachi. The organ was received by the very rich in states including Jammu and Kashmir.

Tried to sell Kidney, became middleman later

Like Sabit Nasar, Ram Prasad also tried to sell the kidney and became the main middleman. Ram Prasad contacted middleman Madhu from Ernakulam to sell his kidney. The sale of the kidney did not take place as Ram Prasad was found ill during the medical examination. Ram Prasad joined Madhu afterwards. A team led by Ram Prasad is the one that looks for people in need of organs and victims. They are sent to Iran later.

Madhu and Sabit take care of things in Iran. Ten lakhs of hospital expenses will be deducted and the remaining amount will be split among them. It is hinted that Madhu is still in Iran.

Hospital in Kerala under suspicion

A hospital in Kerala is also under suspicion. The health examination of some of those who come to sell their kidneys and other organs was done in this hospital.
