KANNUR: It is alleged that the party threatened the woman for her revelation in connection with the death of an elderly man in steel bomb explosion at Eranholi in Kannur. The party workers threatened Seena, neighbour of Velayudhan, who died in the bomb explosion.

People including activists and panchayat member came home. They told her mother to make her understand things. Seena told media that her mother told them that she won’t listen to her. She added that she will tell the truth even if they kill her.

Seena said all the vacant houses in the area are turning bomb-making hubs. ‘We don't want to die in a bomb blast. People reacting against it will be dealt with. If anyone speaks, their house will be bombed and destroyed. Will not allow us to live peacefully. I am saying this for the people of this area. Party workers came and took the bombs placed in the nearby lands. Could not tolerate this anymore. We want to live here without any fear,’ said Seena.

Special team to probe
A special team headed by Thalassery ASP K S Shahanshah will investigate the death of the old man in bomb explosion. The source of the bomb will be found. The officials also informed that a list of uninhabited houses and plots will be prepared. An extensive inspection will be conducted in Thalassery and Panoor. Meantime, there are allegations that there are lapses on the side of the police in nabbing the accused in such cases.
